"30 Days: Minimum Wage"

By watching this video, I now see how people, including me, just take things for granted. It is important to understand how other people live. Just by looking at someone, you can't tell if they are "just getting by" to pay their bills or if something else has happened to them. This video has really changed how I look at other people, because I don't know what they are going through. I think what Morgan and Alex did in the video really changed how they take things for granted sometimes too. One thing I learned from this video is that there are church centers where volunteers donate items for no charge to people who can't afford those things. I think this is an awesome reflection on how there are some nice people in this world. Also in the video I learned that even though you may not know it, but where you live 1 in 5 children go to bed hungry because their family is struggling make ends meet financially. So, next time you really want something, but really don't need it, think of other people who would appreciate to have the littlest things, but financially can't.

    I see what you mean, looking around, I realize that I have taken a lot of things for granted. I've never really thought about how hard it would be for people who only make minimum wage to get by. And I agree on how you say the video has changed how you look at people, I can say I share the same stance.

    As well as you, I was surprised by the generosity of the church group. I would hope that there are other generous churches or groups out there that would do the same thing for my family and myself if we were in the same situation. I feel like I should take some action in my own church to start something of a similar nature to give back to those in need. I know, for instance, that just in Wayne our food bank is already at an all time low. I am shocked that people in such a small community need these resources just like a big city. It is always inspirational to see how human beings can be such giving creatures.

    It is true we never really enjoy what we have until it is gone. Watching this has brought that to light for me.
